Privacy and security on the public Ada Ecosystem site.

These public pages explain the project, provide contact paths, and support limited sign-in and password-reset requests. This notice describes how Ada Ecosystem handles information connected with those public pages.

When you visit

Ordinary site operations use limited server-side metadata.

Ada Ecosystem may keep a short rolling window of ordinary request and connection metadata for the public site, along with longer-lived daily aggregate counts. This helps operate the site, understand which pages are being requested, distinguish ordinary traffic from abuse, and troubleshoot service problems.

For ordinary visits, this operational data is kept intentionally narrow and is not meant to identify individual visitors. The public pages do not use client-side analytics code. Ada Ecosystem may use cookies and similar browser storage where needed to support sign-in, security, remember preferences, present or carry search results, and keep requested features working. The theme control stores your light, dark, or automatic preference in your browser’s local storage so your browser can remember your choice on that device.

Security and abuse prevention

Suspicious traffic may be logged in more detail.

To protect Ada Ecosystem and others, the project monitors for scanning, misuse, attempted unauthorized access, fraud, and other suspicious or harmful activity. If traffic appears malicious, abusive, unauthorized, or otherwise suspicious, Ada Ecosystem may collect and retain more detailed server-side security records than it keeps for ordinary visits.

Those security records may include categories of data such as IP address, network and connection metadata, request metadata, targeted request details, user-agent information, and derived security classifications. They may be used to investigate and defend against abusive activity, and respond to security incidents.

How information is used

Operate the site, respond to messages, and keep the service safe.

Operational and contact information may be used to deliver and secure the public site, understand which pages and bots are requesting it, investigate failures or abuse, answer messages, and improve the reliability and safety of the service.

Contact messages are not treated as catalog submissions unless you clearly ask to provide information for that purpose and the applicable review process accepts it.

When you contact us

Information you choose to send or submit.

The contact page opens your email service. The project receives the address, message, and other information you include. Email is also processed by the mail providers used to send and receive it.

If you use the password reset request form, the site receives the email address you enter so the request can be handled consistently. Please avoid including passwords, private keys, session tokens, or personal information that is not needed for your question or report.

Retention

Different categories of information are kept for different periods.

Short-lived operational records for ordinary traffic may be deleted after a limited retention period or reduced to aggregate counts. More detailed security records may be kept longer when reasonably necessary to detect, investigate, understand, document, or respond to abuse or security incidents.

Ada Ecosystem aims to keep information no longer than needed for the purpose it was collected, subject to operational needs, incident response, and legal requirements.

Service providers and sharing

Third parties may help operate or protect the service.

Ada Ecosystem uses third-party providers for website hosting and delivery, email, infrastructure, monitoring, security, abuse prevention, incident response, and other technical support. Those providers may process relevant information on Ada Ecosystem’s behalf to operate, secure, maintain, or improve the service.

Ada Ecosystem may also share relevant operational or security information with these providers, with professional advisers, and with authorities or other parties when required by law or when reasonably necessary to investigate, prevent, or respond to malicious, abusive, fraudulent, or unauthorized activity. Ada Ecosystem does not authorize providers to use personal information for their own advertising or unrelated purposes.

Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights in relation to your information.

Depending on where you are and the law that applies, you may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of personal information associated with you, subject to legal exceptions and operational limits.

If Ada Ecosystem relies on legitimate interests for a specific use of personal information, you may have the right to object to that use. You can also use your browser controls to remove saved site data, including cookies and local storage, though some sign-in, security, preference, or search-related features may then work differently or not at all.

Where data-protection law requires a stated legal basis, Ada Ecosystem generally relies on legitimate interests to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the public site, communicate with people who contact the project, and detect or respond to abuse or unauthorized activity.

Other lawful bases may apply when needed for legal obligations, to protect the service and its users, or to handle a specific request or interaction in a lawful and proportionate way.

Links may lead to sites outside Ada Ecosystem’s control.

Ada Ecosystem provides links to other websites, repositories, archives, and services that operate independently and have their own privacy and security practices. A link from Ada Ecosystem does not place those destinations under Ada Ecosystem’s control.

Links to other sites should not be understood as endorsements. Content, policies, and views expressed by those sites are their own and may not be shared by Ada Ecosystem.

Changes to this notice

The notice may be updated as the service evolves.

Ada Ecosystem may update this notice from time to time to reflect changes to the public site, security practices, legal requirements, or planned services. When that happens, the updated notice will be posted here and the last-updated date will be revised.

If a change materially affects how information is collected, used, retained, or disclosed, Ada Ecosystem will take reasonable steps to highlight that change before or when it takes effect.

Future public services

New interactive features may require additional notice.

If Ada Ecosystem later offers public catalog accounts, search history, AI conversations, submissions, or other interactive services, this notice will be updated to explain the relevant information practices for those features.
